OHKAY
So, I have heard of the makeup line ColourPop, they are owned by SEED Beauty which also owns Kylie Cosmetics and KKW Beauty. ColourPop is LA Based, carried in Ulta, and affordable. I have heard some people RAVE about them, but I never felt the compelled to actually try them out.
Until now….
I’m on the search to break my Sephora habit and broaden my knowledge. This has lead me to get out of my comfort box haha
I hopped onto Colourpop.com about a week ago and started poking around. First of all: I was floored by the prices. Second: The range of products. I actually thought they only made eyeshadow! What rock have I been living under!? You can do a full face with them!
Then I stumbled upon their sister site Fourth Ray. This is a “clean” line of skincare. Perfect because I just ran out of my Caudalie foaming cleanser (p.s. I am sad to see they lost their cruelty free stamp)
ColourPop is cruelty free!
I snapped up the travel kit that includes: Keep Clear Clarifying Tonic, AM to the PM Gel Cleanser, BFD Cleansing Oil, & The Lightweight Hydrator. Plus a cute bag! Total – $20.00
They all smell pleasant and so far seem really gentle on my skin. I haven’t used the oil to clean makeup off yet, but I do not see why it would not work.
The gel is effective, but so far unremarkable. That is A-ok with me 🙂 I don’t need anything fancy to cleanse my face.
The tonic smells like tea tree oil which explains the “clarifying” claims. Now I use Thayer’s witch hazel as a toner normally, but I do like this one because I feel like it might actually help me control my oil and blemishes a little better. Too soon to know for sure though.
I’ll keep y’all updated on the cleansing oil – But I liked it when I tried it. It is not super messy and I thought it felt nice on my skin.
The hydrator is odd. BUT I like it. It is very light and not a cream. Its a milky liquid that gushes out of the tube so be careful haha There is no grease or oil either. It coated my skin nicely, but I feel almost a tacky feeling after. I have not felt my skin rage and produce a wave of oil after applying it either. My skin needs hydration, but rebels against it most of the time.
SOOOO I have to say I will probably give some of these full size products a go!
The other things I grabbed: Lippie Stix in After Shock $5.50
An eye palette – Karrueche X ColourPop in Brown Sugar $12.00
Will update on the makeup products later 🙂
(sneak peek – the lippie feeeeelllllsssss ssssooooo sssoooofffttt)
That pink box is my new Function of Beauty – trying a new formula AND the limited Black shampoo color. It came way early so it’ll be a while before I can update on the change in formula.
I love the palette. Everyday brown shades.
